Volunteer

Fitchburg Civic Days needs volunteers and we would love it if you would join us in helping to show the patriotism and community enthusiasm that defines Fitchburg! We are looking for volunteers to support our annual events on June 28th , July 3rd, and July 4th.

June 28 from 1:00 pm to 7:00pm is the Annual Doll Carriage & Bicycle Parade and the Amazing Duck Race Festival. We are looking for volunteers to help maintain the civic days booths, assist in coordinating the parade and race and clean up at the end.

July 3 from 3:30 pm to 11:00pm is the annual Downtown Block Party. We need volunteers throughout the evening. Duties could include overseeing vender set up, maintaining performance spaces, lugging ice, helping performers, running errands and assisting with security.

July 4 from 8:00 am to 1pm is the Annual 4th of July Parade. We need volunteers to serve as parade marshals and banner carriers. Marshals assist in directing and lining up floats and other participants in the parade. Banner carriers carry banners throughout the length of the parade. The parade runs from the St. Bernard’s Elementary School on Summer St through to the Upper Common on Main St. This is a several mile walk.

All volunteers receive an official parade T-shirt and the appreciation of their community for their efforts! We encourage you to invite family and friends to join you. Please fill out the Volunteer Form if you are interested in volunteering this year with you name, t-shirt size and availability and send it to civicdays@fitchburgma.gov. Any question regarding volunteer participation may be addressed to AJ Tourigny at 978-829-1801.
